Turkey Meatloaf
Posted on Thursday December 13, 2007 by Pete
I love making a turkey meatloaf for a few reasons. The first reason is that it is very easy to prepare, and the cleanup is easy. I don't have to spend all day in the kitchen, cooking and cleaning. The second reason is that it is loaded with protein. This particular dish is specific to the Spartan Diet, but anything on The Spartan Diet can be used by those on The Theban or The Athenian. If you are on The Athenian, you could add tomatoe sauce on top, and maybe some feta cheese.
Ingredients:
99% fat free turkey breast
Wheat Germ
Spinach/Romaine lettuce
Black Beans
Egg whites
Lemon Juice
Garlic
Mrs. Dash No Sodium Seasonings
Directions:
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
Mix Ingredients together, really mash it down with a spoon or with your hands. Spray your cookware with Pam, mold the meat into a 'meatloaf' -- cook for 45 mins to 1 hour.

Dan: Pete, I've got the meatloaf in the oven right now. I can't wait. I had to substitute pinto beans for black beans, but it should be just as great. Great recipe idea.12/19/2007

CosmoGirl: Your videos are a joy to watch and educational. I did not realize all of the uses for wheat germ. My roommate used to keep a large jar of it in the fridge... I never asked. I eat lots of veggies, no/low sodium foods, and some meat. As a 30 yr old woman with corporate lifestyle, living in Philly - cheesesteak land, I eat to keep lean and healthy. Foods that make me feel full without the fillers are paramount. I never thought to cook spinach or greens other than herbs (parsley and oregano) in my turkey meatloaf... meatballs and hamburger would be good too! This and mushrooms, chick peas, peppers, etc with turkey meat is a good idea for women like me. Add carrots for sweetness too. Now I just need to come up with one good recipe. Great tips, presentation, and great body. You have me thinking...12/15/2007
