Nu Wave Oven: Product Review
Posted on Monday January 19, 2009 by Pete

Here is a quick cell phone pic that I took this morning after waking up - you can see in the lower abs that I've really made a conscious effort to train the obliques, performing lots of side crunches and oblique crunches.  I hope you all had a good weekend - I did, except that my Eagles lost yesterday to the Cardinals, so I'm definitely a bit bummed about that, but other than that everything is good.

I recently had the opportunity to test out the Nu Wave Oven.  I'm sure many of you have seen the infomercial on TV where they claim that the oven uses 3 technologies to cook food faster and more efficiently: convection, conduction, and infrared.  I was very skeptical, but figured it was worth a shot, because of all of the cooking that I do.  Besides making the claim to cook the food in half of the time, another "selling point" for me was the claim of 250% more fat drippings than traditional cooking.  Many of you know that I try to grill very often because so much of the fat drips down into the grill making the meal much more healthy.  So, I figured this would be another alternative to grilling.

Anyways, so I figured I would test it out yesterday when I had a friend over to watch the football games.  I had a 7.5 lb turkey breast that I put into the nu wave oven, using their add on extender ring, and lo and behold, the 7.5 lb breast was completely finished in 1.5 hrs.  Not only was it finished quicker (it normally takes about 2.5 hrs in a traditional oven, and even then it sometimes doesn't cook all the way through), but the skin was extra crispy, while the meat inside was extremely juicy.  It was without question the best turkey that I've ever cooked.  Right then and there, I was sold on the product, and decided to recommend it to friends, family, and those of you here on the blog.  So, for those of you out there looking for an alternate method of cooking, give it a whirl.

Bob Gee: Pete, didn't you find the Nu Wave oven to make the most tender and moist chicken you've had? The closed container retains the moisture even after cooking. I am using it all the time in the RV where I live. Nu Wave is available on Amazon for a good price and free Prime shipping.

Peter Adonis: Jake - the asteroid stack was disappointing, no signifcant muscle gain, but that is true of a lot of supplement claims. Well, you live and learn, no? :-) -Peter Adonis

mikep: Sorry to hear your Eagles lost! The oven sounds great. Did some research on it, may have to purchase one for myself. I am sure there are a lot of great healthy recipes you can make using it. Since you started this post talking about abs, was wondering if you are still using the Contour belt?
